About the job 3rd Shift Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for support throughout all departments as well as communicating to Management regarding off-shift functions with-in the plant as needed. This position will ensure that all personnel follow Company policies as listed below. Clear understanding of basic Mix, Food Service, Grocery Line, Sanitation, Packaging, and Shipping/ Receiving functions are required as well as the ability to trouble shoot, problem solve and direct others to accomplish department goals. The understanding of HACCP, pasteurization, sanitation and all facets of Safety and food safety are required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Duties and tasks as assigned by Manager
  • Food Safety responsibilities
  • Comply with all Company policies including, but not limited to, Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMP's, HAACP, and Attendance.
  • Perform duties accurately and on a timely basis in accordance to written and or verbal instruction.
  • Understand and follow procedures of the department for use of the department's equipment.
  • Understand, follow and support Good Manufacturing Practices for the care, handling and storage of food products; report any known or observed violations to management that cant be independently corrected. Counsel others as needed. Utilize HACCP philosophy and procedures in everyday work routine.
  • Communicate to Management, and other departments as needed.
  • Follow and enforce safety procedures.
  • Maintain a high degree of respect for all associates encouraging all to participate in Safety, Product Quality and plant efficiencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in food manufacturing and Leadership skills or the ability to achieve through OJT.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts as needed depending on production/sanitation schedule changes throughout the year.
  • Possess a high degree of communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as: Food Safety procedures, safety procedures, and understand requirements as set forth through Quality Control guidelines.
  • Ability to interface with automated processes
  • Must be able to work with a high degree of accuracy
  • Lead and work with a team to achieve company goals.
  • Complete all tasks as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Noise level above 80 decibels hearing protection required
  • Lift up to 40 LBS
  • Environmental temperatures range: 45 to 90 degrees, brief periods in the freezer @-10 may be required with appropriate artic wear.
  • Stand or walk as needed throughout an 8 to 10 hr. shift
  • Wear slip-resistant safety toed footwear.
