Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, repair, and maintain both residential and commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of small- and large-scale HVAC systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductwork, ventilation systems, rooftop units (RTUs), chillers, boilers, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC/R systems.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and tune-ups to ensure system efficiency.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Install, repair, and calibrate thermostats, humidistats, and smart HVAC control systems.
  • Handle refrigerants according to EPA regulations and ensure all work complies with safety standards.
  • Test and balance airflow, refrigerant levels, and system performance using specialized tools.
  • Work with building automation systems (BAS) and energy management controls for commercial clients.
  • Educate customers on proper system operation, maintenance, and energy-saving tips.
  • Maintain service records, document repairs, and complete work orders.
  • Provide emergency repair services as needed, including nights and weekends.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of residential and commercial HVAC systems.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for both small-scale and large-scale HVAC/R systems.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS), DDC controls, and smart thermostats.
  • Knowledge of airflow balancing, ductwork installation, and variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems.
  • Familiarity with gas piping, electrical wiring, and control circuits.
  • Understanding of HVAC codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills for residential clients.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform duties in various weather conditions.

Education & Training Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • HVAC certification from an accredited trade school or technical college is preferred.
  • Completion of an HVAC apprenticeship program (if applicable).
  • EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal) required.
  • NATE Certification is a plus.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of HVAC experience required, with both residential and commercial experience preferred.

Work Environment:

  • Work in residential homes, apartment complexes, office buildings, hospitals, schools, and industrial facilities.
  • Ability to work in high elevations, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and outdoor environments.
  • Must be available for emergency repairs, weekend shifts, and on-call rotations.
