We are seeking a detail-oriented Planning and Controls Analyst to support our electrical service companys strategic and operational planning efforts. This role will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and monitoring project schedules, financial plans, and control mechanisms to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in electrical service operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in data analysis tools, and experience in business planning, financial analysis, or project controls within the electrical or construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Analysis:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project planning and control processes specific to electrical service projects.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on project performance, budget variance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist in forecasting and scenario analysis to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure alignment of business objectives.

Project Controls & Compliance:

  • Monitor project schedules, costs, and performance metrics to ensure electrical projects remain within scope and budget.
  • Establish and maintain tracking systems for resource allocation, expenditures, and deliverables.
  • Identify potential risks and propose mitigation strategies to prevent delays and budget overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate data and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
  • 3+ years of experience in planning, financial analysis, or project controls, preferably in the electrical or construction industry.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, or similar.
  • Experience with project management software (ComputerEase, Deltek, MS Project, or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for electrical projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
