We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager / Lead Estimator to lead our electrical service companys operations in Charlotte, NC. This dual-role position is responsible for overseeing branch operations while leading the estimating efforts for light commercial and multi-family residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of electrical estimating, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

Branch Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Manage and develop branch personnel, including electricians, project managers, and administrative staff.
  • Establish and maintain strong customer relationships, fostering repeat business and new client opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety policies.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and expense control.
  • Drive business growth through strategic planning and business development efforts.

Estimating & Pre-Construction:

  • Prepare accurate and competitive bids for light commercial and multi-family residential electrical projects.
  • Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and drawings to determine labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure seamless transition from estimating to execution.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, codes, and regulations to maintain competitive and compliant bids.
  • Assist in value engineering and cost-saving recommendations for clients and projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with a focus on light commercial and multi-family residential projects.
  • 3+ years of management or leadership experience in the electrical contracting or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, materials, and construction practices.
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as ComputerEase, Deltek, Accubid, or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in financial oversight and operational efficiency.
  • Proven track record of building client relationships and driving revenue growth.
  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred but not required).
